Account & Registration
15 questions
Visit app.betavend.com/register and fill in your full name, email address, phone number, and a password. Tap Create Account and you're done in under 2 minutes. A verification email will be sent to confirm your address.
You only need your full name, a valid email address, your Nigerian phone number, and a password. No ID documents are required to create an account or start transacting at the basic level.
No. Betavend's terms permit one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to bypass limits or referral policies is prohibited and may result in all your accounts being suspended.
After registering, check your inbox for an email from [email protected]. Click the Verify Email Address button inside the email. You'll be redirected to your dashboard with a confirmation. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder.
First check your spam or junk folder — verification emails sometimes land there. If you still can't find it, log in to your dashboard and click the Resend button in the email verification banner at the top of the page. Allow up to 2 minutes for delivery.
Go to app.betavend.com/forgot-password, enter your registered email address, and click Send reset link. You'll receive a password reset email within a few minutes. The reset link expires after 60 minutes.
Yes. Go to your Profile → tap Edit next to your personal information → update your phone number. Note that if you've completed KYC with your current number, you may need to re-verify your identity after changing it.
Email changes require identity verification for security reasons. Contact [email protected] with your account details and the new email address you'd like to use. Our team will process the change within 24 hours.
KYC stands for Know Your Customer. It's a regulatory requirement for financial platforms in Nigeria. Completing KYC raises your daily transaction limits, enables wallet funding, and is required for agent tier upgrades. It helps protect your account from fraud and ensures compliance with CBN guidelines.
Go to your Profile → tap Identity Verification → select Phone Verification. A one-time code will be sent to your registered phone number. Enter the code to complete Level 1 verification instantly.
Go to Profile → Identity Verification → enter your Bank Verification Number (BVN). Your BVN details are verified through a secure third-party service. Verification typically completes within seconds. Dial *565*0# on your registered bank phone number to retrieve your BVN.
Common reasons include: the BVN not matching the phone number on your account, entering an incorrect BVN, or using a BVN already linked to another account. If you're sure your details are correct, contact [email protected] with your account email for manual review.
BVN verification is typically instant — within 5–30 seconds. In rare cases where the verification service is slow, it can take up to 5 minutes. If your verification is still pending after 10 minutes, contact support.
Unverified accounts have a ₦50,000 daily transaction limit. Completing KYC Level 1 (phone) raises this limit, and completing Level 2 (BVN) unlocks the full transaction limit available on your tier. Verify your account from your Profile page to unlock higher limits.
Yes, basic services (airtime, data, electricity, cable TV) are accessible without KYC, subject to the unverified daily limit of ₦50,000. However, wallet funding requires at least Level 1 verification. We strongly recommend completing KYC to unlock full platform features.

Transaction PIN
6 questions
Your transaction PIN is a 4-digit code required to authorise every purchase on Betavend. It's separate from your login password and adds an extra layer of security. Even if someone gains access to your account, they cannot make purchases without your PIN.
Go to your Profile → scroll down to Transaction PIN → tap Set PIN. Enter your 4-digit PIN twice to confirm. Choose a PIN that is easy for you to remember but not obvious to others (avoid 0000, 1234, or your birth year).
Go to Profile → Transaction PIN → Change PIN. You'll need to enter your current PIN before setting a new one. If you've forgotten your current PIN, use the reset option instead.
Go to Profile → Transaction PIN → Forgot PIN. A reset link will be sent to your registered email address. Click the link and set a new PIN. This process verifies your identity through your email to ensure only you can reset your PIN.
After 5 consecutive wrong PIN attempts, your account is temporarily locked for security. Wait for the lockout period to expire (usually 30 minutes), or contact [email protected] to manually unlock your account immediately after verifying your identity.
No. Your PIN is stored as a one-way hash — the same technology used by banks. This means Betavend staff cannot see your PIN. This is why we cannot tell you your PIN if you forget it — we can only help you reset it. Never share your PIN with anyone.

Wallet & Funding
11 questions
Your Betavend wallet is a digital balance that you pre-fund and use to pay for airtime, data, electricity, and cable TV services. Think of it as a prepaid balance — you fund it once and spend it as needed without re-entering payment details for every transaction.
Go to Wallet → Fund Wallet. You'll see your dedicated bank account details (unique to you). Transfer any amount from your bank app, USSD, or internet banking to this account number. Your wallet is credited within 10 seconds of a successful transfer.
Wallet crediting is instant — typically within 5–10 seconds of your bank confirming the transfer. In rare cases of network congestion, it may take up to 2 minutes. If your wallet hasn't been credited after 5 minutes, contact support with your bank transfer reference.
The minimum transfer amount is ₦100. However, note that a 1.6% payment processing fee applies to all wallet funding. On a ₦100 transfer, ₦1.60 is deducted as a processing fee, crediting ₦98.40 to your wallet.
Maximum wallet balance depends on your KYC level. Unverified accounts can hold up to ₦50,000. After completing KYC verification, higher limits apply based on your account tier. Contact support if you need a limit review for business use.
Possible reasons: (1) You transferred to the wrong account number — always confirm your dedicated account number in the app before transferring. (2) Your bank's transfer hasn't settled yet — some transfers (especially USSD) can take 5–10 minutes. (3) There's a bank network issue. If your wallet isn't credited after 10 minutes, contact support with your bank transaction receipt.
Wallet-to-wallet transfers between Betavend users are not currently supported. You can only use your wallet balance to purchase services. This feature may be available in a future update.
Betavend wallets are prepaid service wallets, not bank accounts. Withdrawals to bank accounts are not supported. Wallet funds are intended for purchasing services only. If you've been overfunded or have a balance you'd like returned due to a special circumstance, contact support.
Betavend takes operational continuity seriously. In the unlikely event of service discontinuation, users would be given advance notice and the opportunity to use their remaining balances before any shutdown. We recommend maintaining only the balance you need for near-term purchases.
Every Betavend user receives a unique dedicated bank account number generated through our payment provider (Monnify). This allows us to automatically identify which wallet to credit when a transfer is received. Never use someone else's account number to fund your wallet — it will credit their wallet, not yours.
Yes. You can fund via any method that supports bank transfers to the account number shown in your app — this includes internet banking, mobile banking apps, USSD transfers, and transfers from bank POS terminals. USSD transfers may take slightly longer (up to 5 minutes) to reflect due to interbank settlement times.

Airtime
7 questions
Betavend supports airtime for all four major Nigerian networks: MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9Mobile. Select your network in the Airtime section of the app.
The minimum airtime purchase is ₦50. There is no maximum per transaction, but daily purchase limits apply based on your KYC level.
Yes. Simply enter the recipient's phone number in the Phone Number field during purchase. The airtime will be credited directly to that number. You can buy for any Nigerian mobile number regardless of your own network.
Airtime is delivered instantly — typically within 3–5 seconds of a successful transaction. In rare cases of network delays, delivery may take up to 2 minutes. If airtime hasn't arrived after 5 minutes, check your transaction history; if it shows "Successful," the airtime should be available.
First wait 2 minutes — delivery can occasionally take a moment. Then check your balance using your network's USSD code (MTN: *556#, Airtel: *123#, Glo: *127*0#, 9Mobile: *232#). If the airtime hasn't arrived after 5 minutes and your transaction shows "Successful" in Betavend, contact [email protected] with your transaction reference.
Bulk airtime for multiple numbers simultaneously is not currently available in the standard app. However, Enterprise tier users with API access can automate bulk purchases programmatically. Contact support to learn more about Enterprise API access.
On Betavend, you pay for airtime at a slight discount to the face value — meaning you get face value airtime for less than face value cost. The amount credited to the phone is the face value of the airtime. There are no hidden deductions from the airtime amount itself.

Data
8 questions
Betavend supports data bundles for MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9Mobile. Available data plans and types vary by network.
In the Data section, select your network and data type. Each plan shows the data size, validity period, and price. For personal smartphones, SME data is the most affordable option. For routers and MiFi devices, use Special Data or Corporate plans. If you're unsure, start with a smaller plan to test compatibility.
Yes. Enter the recipient's phone number in the phone number field. Data will be credited to that number directly. Make sure you select the correct network for the recipient's SIM to avoid failed delivery.
Data is delivered within 3–10 seconds in most cases. If it hasn't arrived after 2 minutes, restart mobile data on the phone. Check your data balance using your network's USSD code. If still not reflecting after 5 minutes, contact support with your transaction reference.
Try these steps: (1) Toggle airplane mode off and on to refresh the connection. (2) Dial your network's data balance code to check. (3) Restart the phone. (4) If the transaction shows "Successful" in Betavend but data is not credited after 10 minutes, contact support with your transaction reference — we'll escalate to the provider.
Yes. Betavend offers MTN SME data and MTN Special Data plans. SME data is the most affordable type and works on all smartphones. Select "MTN" as the network and "MTN SME" as the data type to see available SME plans.
SME data is cheaper wholesale data originally designed for small businesses. It's resold through VTU platforms and works perfectly on smartphones. Regular/retail data is purchased directly from the network at standard retail prices. SME data is functionally identical for everyday use but may not work on some routers, MiFi, or dongle devices. If you're topping up a router, use Special Data plans.
No. Data purchases on Betavend are one-time transactions — there is no auto-renewal. Your data will expire at the end of its validity period and you'll need to purchase a new bundle. This gives you full control over your spending without unexpected deductions.

Electricity
10 questions
Betavend supports all major Nigerian electricity distribution companies including: EKEDC (Eko), IKEDC (Ikeja), AEDC (Abuja), IBEDC (Ibadan), PHED (Port Harcourt), KAEDCO (Kaduna), JEDC (Jos), KEDCO (Kano), BEDC (Benin), and others. Select your DISCO in the Electricity section of the app.
Prepaid meters require you to purchase tokens in advance — you load credit and the meter runs it down. Betavend generates a token (a numeric code) that you enter on your meter. Postpaid meters are billed monthly based on consumption. Betavend supports payments for both types, though the delivery mechanism differs.
Your meter number is printed on a sticker on your electricity meter — usually 11 or 13 digits long. It may also be on your electricity bill. For prepaid meters, you can also press # on the meter keypad to display your meter number.
Electricity tokens are generated and delivered within 10–30 seconds for most DISCOs. Occasionally, delays of up to 2 minutes occur during peak periods. Your token will appear on the Betavend transaction success screen and also be sent to your registered phone number via SMS.
Your token appears in three places: (1) On the transaction success screen immediately after payment. (2) In your transaction history — tap the transaction to view the token anytime. (3) Via SMS to your registered phone number. Screenshot the success screen as a backup.
Common causes: (1) Entering the token incorrectly — enter it carefully, digit by digit. (2) Debt recovery — some of the credit is used to pay outstanding debt first (see next FAQ). (3) Meter fault — contact your DISCO if the meter displays an error code. Double-check the token from your transaction history and re-enter it.
This depends on whether the token has already been generated for another meter. Once a valid token is generated, it is linked to the meter number provided and cannot be reversed. Always double-check your meter number before confirming. If you need assistance, contact [email protected] immediately — we'll try to help resolve it with the DISCO.
The minimum electricity payment is ₦500 for most DISCOs. Some DISCOs may have higher minimums (typically ₦1,000). The minimum amount is displayed in the app when you select your electricity provider.
Yes. Enter the recipient's meter number instead of your own. The token generated will be for that specific meter and must be entered on that meter. This is commonly used to pay electricity for elderly parents, tenants, or family members remotely.
A debt recovery token means your meter had an outstanding debt from a previous period. The DISCO's system automatically deducts the outstanding debt from your payment before generating a credit token. This is a DISCO policy — Betavend processes the payment exactly as the DISCO instructs. To avoid this, pay off the debt by purchasing a larger amount, or contact your DISCO to clear the debt separately.

Cable TV
7 questions
Betavend supports subscriptions for DSTV, GOtv, and StarTimes. Select your provider in the Cable TV section of the app.
Your smartcard or IUC number is printed on the back of your decoder smartcard. For DSTV, it's usually 10 digits. You can also find it by pressing the Help button on your remote control — it will display on screen. For GOtv, it's on the side label of the decoder box.
Cable TV subscription renewals are processed within 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Your decoder will automatically refresh once the subscription is activated on the provider's system. If your TV is on, channels should become available almost immediately.
"No signal" is usually a dish alignment or cable issue — not a subscription issue. Once payment is confirmed, try: (1) Restart your decoder by unplugging and re-plugging it. (2) Confirm payment processed in your Betavend transaction history. (3) Check the decoder's signal settings. If channels were working before and the only change is an expired subscription, the restart usually resolves it within a few minutes.
Yes. When renewing, simply select the package you want to subscribe to — you're not locked into your previous package. For example, you can switch from Compact to Compact Plus by selecting the new package during renewal. The change takes effect immediately upon payment.
Add-on bouquets (such as DSTV French, Sport add-ons, etc.) are available in the Cable TV section. Select your provider, enter your smartcard number, and browse the available add-on packages. These are charged separately from your main subscription.
Yes. Enter the smartcard/IUC number of the decoder you want to renew. The subscription is linked to the decoder, not to your Betavend account. This is commonly used to renew subscriptions for family members or as a gift.

Failed Transactions & Refunds
9 questions
When a transaction fails, your wallet balance is automatically reversed. You will not lose money on a confirmed failed transaction. The reversal appears in your transaction history as a credit entry. If you see "Failed" but your wallet wasn't credited back, contact support immediately.
Betavend's auto-reversal system processes refunds within 5–10 minutes of a confirmed failure. The system checks every 5 minutes for stuck or failed orders and automatically reverses wallet deductions. You'll receive an in-app notification when the reversal is complete.
Transactions stuck in "Processing" for more than 10 minutes are automatically picked up by Betavend's monitoring system and re-queried with the provider. If the provider confirms failure, your wallet is reversed. If you need faster resolution, contact [email protected] with your transaction reference number.
Go to Transaction History → find the transaction → tap it to open the details. Note the Transaction Reference Number (format: YYYYMMDDXXXXXXXX). Contact [email protected] with this reference. You can also send it via WhatsApp or Twitter to @Betavend.
If your wallet was debited and the transaction shows "Successful" but you didn't receive the service: (1) Wait 5 minutes — delivery occasionally has minor delays. (2) Check your transaction history for status. (3) If still unresolved, contact support with your transaction reference. We investigate with the provider and process a manual reversal if the service was genuinely not delivered.
Refunds are not processed in the following cases: (1) The service was successfully delivered — airtime credited, data activated, token generated, or subscription renewed. (2) You entered a wrong number or meter number and the service was delivered to that incorrect number. (3) The transaction failure was due to your own cancellation. Always verify details before confirming purchases.
If the airtime or data was delivered to the wrong number, a refund is generally not possible because the service was successfully delivered. Contact support immediately — in some cases we may be able to assist, but this depends on whether the provider allows reversal for the transaction type. This is why we show your entered details on the confirmation screen before you enter your PIN.
Simple disputes (clear failed transaction with no delivery) are typically resolved within 1–2 hours. Complex disputes requiring provider investigation may take 24–72 hours. We'll keep you updated via email throughout the process.
All refunds are credited back to your Betavend wallet, not to a bank account. This is because your wallet was the source of the payment. Wallet-to-bank withdrawals are not currently supported on Betavend.

Referral & Coins
9 questions
When you refer a friend using your unique referral link, and they register and make their first qualifying transaction, you earn Betavend coins. Coins can be used to discount future purchases. The more friends you refer, the more coins you earn.
Go to Profile → tap Referrals. Your unique referral link and referral code are displayed there. Copy the link and share via WhatsApp, social media, or any channel you prefer.
You earn a coin when your referred friend: (1) registers using your referral link, (2) verifies their email, and (3) completes their first successful purchase. Simply registering without transacting does not trigger the coin reward.
Coin values and redemption rates are displayed in the Referrals section of your profile. The value may vary based on current promotions. Check the app for current coin-to-naira conversion rates.
During checkout for any service, you'll see an option to apply coins as a discount. Toggle it on to apply your available coins to reduce the cost of your purchase. Coins discount the amount deducted from your wallet.
Coins have an expiry period — check the Referrals section in your profile for the exact expiry date on your coins. Unused coins that expire are forfeited, so use them before they expire.
There is a maximum coin discount per transaction to prevent abuse. The current limit is displayed during checkout when you apply coins. You can use coins on multiple transactions until your balance is exhausted.
No. Coins are non-transferable and tied to the account that earned them. They can only be used by the account holder for their own purchases.
Coins are only awarded after your friend completes their first successful purchase — registration alone doesn't trigger the reward. Also confirm your friend used your referral link (not just your referral code entered manually). If your friend has made a purchase and you still haven't received the coin after 24 hours, contact support with your friend's registered email.

Security
6 questions
Yes. Betavend uses bank-level security including HTTPS encryption, transaction PIN verification, rate limiting, Cloudflare WAF protection, and secure payment processing through licensed provider Monnify. All wallet transactions are logged, and your PIN is stored as a one-way hash that cannot be reversed.
Your wallet balance is protected by: (1) Transaction PIN required for every purchase. (2) Automatic reversal for failed transactions. (3) Rate limiting to block brute-force attacks. (4) PIN lockout after 5 wrong attempts. (5) Email verification for account changes. All traffic is encrypted and monitored 24/7.
Act immediately: (1) Change your password at app.betavend.com/forgot-password. (2) Change your transaction PIN from your Profile. (3) Contact [email protected] to flag the account for review. (4) Check your transaction history for any unauthorised purchases and report them. We can suspend your account temporarily while you secure access.
Never. Betavend staff will never ask for your transaction PIN or login password — not via email, WhatsApp, phone call, or any other channel. If anyone contacts you claiming to be Betavend and asks for your PIN or password, it is a scam. Report it immediately to [email protected].
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step when logging in — in addition to your password, you'll be asked to confirm via a code sent to your email or phone. Enable it from Profile → Security Settings → Two-Factor Authentication. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA for maximum account security.
Go to Profile → Security Settings → Active Sessions → tap Log out all devices. This immediately invalidates all active login sessions except your current device. Use this if you suspect unauthorised access or if you've logged in on a shared device.

Agents & Resellers
8 questions
A Betavend agent is someone who buys services at wholesale (discounted) prices and resells them to end customers at a profit. Agents operate at the Pro or Enterprise tier and can build a full income stream reselling airtime, data, electricity, and cable TV services.
Create a Betavend account and contact [email protected] to request an upgrade to Pro or Enterprise tier. Tier upgrades are based on transaction volume and account history. There is no registration fee — your startup cost is only the amount you fund your wallet with.
Pro tier agents get lower data prices than Basic tier. Enterprise tier agents get the lowest available prices. The exact discount varies by service type and network. For example, 1GB MTN data is cheaper for Pro tier than Basic tier — allowing agents to resell at a profit while remaining competitive.
Betavend has three tiers: Basic (default for all new accounts), Pro (for active resellers), and Enterprise (for high-volume agents and API users). Each higher tier unlocks lower purchase prices, higher daily limits, and additional features like API access.
Contact [email protected] with your account email and a brief description of your reselling business. The support team will review your account and process the upgrade. Upgrades are also available from the admin dashboard for accounts that meet the volume thresholds.
Sub-accounts for customers are not currently available in the standard app. However, Enterprise tier users with API access can build their own branded platform using Betavend's API, effectively creating a white-label solution with their own customer accounts. Contact support for Enterprise API details.
Your complete transaction history is available in the app, showing every purchase with timestamps and amounts. For agents, your profit on each transaction is the difference between your purchase price and your selling price to customers. The Betavend app does not currently have a built-in commission tracker, but your full transaction export can be downloaded for accounting purposes.
Betavend sets prices for direct app users. As an agent, you operate externally — you set your own selling prices to your customers, collect payment independently, and buy from your Betavend wallet. Your profit margin is fully under your control. There is no price restriction on what you charge your customers.
